Nominated by Time Out magazine as “Breakout Designer for 2010” designer Hernan Lander did not disappoint with his SS 2011 collection at NYC Fashion Week.
Inspired by gold and goddesses the young designer presented his collection by invitation only at NYC’s Empire Hotel Rooftop Lounge.
It was a beautiful night for a beautiful and classic collection from Lander with heavy matt jersey jackets, satin draped tops and power prints this fashion forward and classic collection has something for every women.
Key Makeup Artist for the show Orlando Santiago continued the gold inspiration throughout the color palette for the models makeup.
Santiago wanted the makeup to not only reflect the inspiration behind the designs but to “enhance the natural beauty of the models with added golden tones inspired by Egyptian goddesses.” Cheekbones were highlighted and skin was kept natural.
Makeup Forever sponsored the collection with rich pigments, flash color, elixir’s for the skin and their new collections.
Santiago and Lander met 3 or 4 years earlier at Columbia Expo and have since worked together on reality TV’s Model Latina where Lander’s designs were worn for the season finale and Santiago was the key Makeup Artist.
Also on hand to support the designer was actress and model Sally Ferreira.
Like Santiago, Ferreira met the designer on set at Model Latina.
Ferreira was stunning in a simple black cocktail dress from the designer. Sally is just one of many actresses and celebrities to wear his designs. Others include grammy winning singer Ashanti, Toni Braxton and Twilight’s Eclipse actress Julia Jones.
